if a husband and his mistress died in a car accident leaving behind a newborn baby can the wife adopt the child if there is no family of the deceased mother willing to?

You could seek a private adoption but there are no guarantees. You should contact adoption agency officials in your county and also consult with an attorney who specializes in adoption.
