my husband has had affairs and leaves for a couple weeks then comes back,this has been going on for almost 3 years now hes living with a different woman and i havent talk with him for almost 4 weeks. he is on unemployment and was the provider and now wont give me nothing, i want a divorce and i want him to have to pay for all hurt he has done, i wanted to save our marriage of 9yrs but cant do it any more. can i get anything? i live in md. he is in pa.

The court has the authority to award alimony and child support, if either is appropriate in your case, and has the ability to award support based on his actual income or, if he is found to be voluntarily impoverished, based on his potential income. The court also has the authority to equitably distribute marital property, if there is any. You should consult with competent domestic relations counsel. While the divorce can be granted on the ground of adultery, and while the court can treat any property he expended on a girlfriend as though the property still exists, the courts in Maryland will not compensate you for the "hurt he has done."
