Order of Deafult in Maryland

Im going threw a custody battle with my childs father and had to file an order of default against him for custody. The judge granted the default and next is a hearing in front of a master of the court. what does this mean?

Unlike a regular lawsuit where a default means you win on liability, for child custody matters, the master still reviews the matter. Depending on the circumstances, the master may require further investigation of the home.
