Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland
parternity test
child 17 seeks parenity test. She lives in IN, I live in MD. What are my options and what is she capable of doing? I now have 3 kids and can't afford to pay. She has waited this long and wants to go to college. She lives with grandmother for 2-3 years. What are IN laws and what are MD laws?

Re: parternity test
I can't tell you about IN laws, but in MD she could file a paternity action through her grandmother and the court could order you to take the test. The good news--if MD law is followed, she'll be ineligible for child support when she turns 18 unless she's still in high school, in which case she is entitled to support until she graduates or turns 19, whichever comes first. The law on this may be different in IN.
