Legal Question in Medical Leave in Maryland
Family medical leave act
My mother is critically ill and has been out of work for three weeks now. She has used all of her vacation and sick leave. How do I go about placing my mother on the FMLA?

To obtain a quick primer on the FMLA you should go to the US Department of Labor webiste. It will explain the procedures and discuss qualifications. Simply go to www.dol.gov. Once you are on the site look for FMLA.
If you need further assistance, you should also look at your mother's employee handbook.
Finally, if you need further assistance after reviewing those two sources, simply call your mother's employer. An HR representative should be able to explain the procedures.
