statuet of limitaions in MD
I am summoned to appear in court for a bill from almost 10 years ago. Is this within the stauet of limitations for the state of Maryland?

The general statute of limitations is 3 years. However, if you last made a payment on the bill or did something to acknowledge the debt within 3 years of the date suit was filed, you can't invoke the statute as a defense. Also, if you signed a contract on which the bill is based and the contract has the word "seal" next to your signature, the period of limitations is 12 years.
