Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland
Wrongfully treated at work
I am a part-time worker and the head manager to the store is always treating me poorly and writing me up wrongfully without consulting me or notifying me about it before hand. Recently he even wrongfully put me on a 2 week suspension and didn't tell me about it before or after he did it and after throwing the book at me for it as well. He also singles me out to use me as an emotional punching bag because he feels he can get away with it. Is what he is doing legal?

Re: Wrongfully treated at work
Employers have wide latitude in this area. Unless this treatment can be demonstrated to be based on some illegal ground, such as race, national origin, sex, etc., your only real recourse is to ask for a meeting with the manager and try and discuss why this is happening. If there is someone above him at the corporate level, you could try and raise the issue there.
