hello.
If my visa expires in 30th of octomber and my boyfriend has a j1 r visa for 1 year if we get married does my status change? and can i work for 1 year? if yes what do i need to do after we get married?

Sometimes it could be possible to apply to change status to a dependent status (based on marriage) and while still in a valid non-immigrant status. However, as a dependent of a J1 visa holder you will not be authorized to work.
