Legal Question in Employment Law in Maryland
I no longer work for my previous employer. I quit the job. Now the company is unfairly accusing me of no working to the full 8 hours on my last day. They have advised me that a stop payment will be placed on the check. However I have already deposited it. What can I do.

Well, it's probably cleared already.
So, the company's only recourse is to demand the return of the money for the hours you didn't work. If you actually worked during that time, just provide evidence.
If your employer successfully stops the check, you can sue for the time worked.
