Legal Question in Employment Law in Maryland
Unlawful termination
Recently my friend called in and complained to my manager, then he sent an E-mail to the corporate office of the company, and it got back to my general manager. Now I am being threatened to be terminated, and my friend was banned from the restruant premises. I don''t see how my friend complaining can make me lose my job. He was only exercising his 1st ammendment..right?

Re: Unlawful termination
In short, you work for a private company. The first amendment limits the government from restraining speech.
What was the substance of the e-mail?
Depending on the substance, there is a slim chance that you may be protected by a state statute. However, more information is needed.
