Out of work due to personal injury, Employer terminated me while under doctors care do I have a legal ground to sue ?

It all depends on your employer's explanation and real reason for firing you. By way of example only, if you used up all of your sick leave and did not qualify under FMLA and did not show up for work, they may be able to dismiss you.
However, more information is needed in your case to determine if you were wrongfully fired.
