Breaking an apartment rental lease.
What are the ramifications of breaking a lease due to one room mate not ever having his full portion of the rent and always late.

The best source of your liability for breaking the lease is your lease. Read the terms of lease.
IF the terms allow the landlord to sue you separately for the breach, you can always sue your roommate for his/her share of the judgment.
