Walmart + hotdogs = Food poisoning

A few days ago a friend of mine purchased & ate 2 ballpark hot dogs at Walmart & became violently ill within 1/2 hour. He was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with food poisoning. What if anything can he do for compensation of hospital bills, etc ?

He needs to consult with an attorney immediately. At the same time, he should not talk to any store representative or insurance adjuster before the consultation. Often, personal injury attorneys will give free telephone or in-person initial consultations.

I have an office in Baltimore, MD and would be happy to talk with him.

If the event wasn't immediately reported to Walmart, they will be skeptical that his illness was caused by their food. He probably didn't save any receipts for the food purchase. However, if the medical records document that his illness occurred reasonably soon after he bought and ate the hot dogs, it's possible Walmart will offer a settlement.
