Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland
Can a parent substitute in or be present at a trial? Would the parent being away, be a legitimate excuse to delay the trial?

No. If a party or a party's witness will be unavailable, then the party (through counsel, if the party has counsel) should request postponement.
