Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland
I just received a ticket in Maryland for going 87 in a 65. I believe it may be reckless driving, but on the ticket it the charge states TA-21-801.1 (speeding 1-9mph over the limit) this penalty would add one point to my record, however the officer said that I will receive 5 points. I also received a 290$ fine. I am not completely sure what I am being charged with and am wondering if I should fight the ticket in court to remove it or receive an alternate/lesser penalty?
