Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland
I recently received a speeding ticket in the state of VA. I live in the state of MD. The county in which I receive the ticket is approximatey 5.5 miles away. My speeding ticket is 22 miles over the speed limit, therefore it's considered reckless driving. I have to appear in court. My question is do I need a lawyer? If so, should he, or she be local (VA)? Can the lawyer go to represent me or do I have to go to court?

This is jailable in Virginia. While you have the right to represent yourself, you should consider having counsel.
