Ticketed for Expired Registration'
Hello, I was driving this evening and was pulled over for expired registration. I was given a ticket for $120 dollars for expired tags and registration ($60 each). I understand I still have to renew my tags but is there anyway to reduce or eliminate the fines? Thanks.

Request a trial, clear up the expiration with the MVA, and when you go to court bring the paperwork. If the cop does not show, plead not guilty. If the cop does show, ask the court for probation before judgement and a reduction in the fine. If this is an isolated incident the court may give you a break.
True, but you needn't request a trial! If you do nothing, they will mail you a trial notice. If you send back the request for hearing, tha will schedule a "guilty with explanation" hearing that won't require the officer's presence. Make that officer show! He is paid with our tax dollars!
