Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland
Hi I was wondering? If a cop pulls you over for not signaling a turn, and the person has no warrant out for their arrest and no criminal background; are they able to decline getting out of their vehicle? Since they were only pulled over for the signal, shouldn't they only be able to aware them of that and then be on their way? or what?

Legally, the person might be right, and a trial a judge would decide whether the cop had grounds to do what he or she did. In the real world you want to be around to argue about it in court, instead of dead in the custody of law enforcement under suspicious circumstances, like the woman in Texas recently.
