Legal Question in Veterans Law in Maryland
Tuition reimbursement
My employer agreed to reimburse my tuition effect the semester following my hire date. After paying for one semester he sent out an email saying the effective immediately you must be emplyeed for two years in order to get tuition reimbursement. Meaning I will no longer get reimbursed. Is this legal?

Re: Tuition reimbursement
While it would be necessary to see the written agreement to reimburse, a case might be able to be made that the employer is bound to reimburse after one semester, especially if you can prove promisory estoppel, i.e. that you gave up something in exchange for the initial promise to reimburse after the first semester. Good luck!
