Legal Question in Workers Comp in Maryland

How do I know if I need a lawyer or not?

I tored my rotary cup on July 19, 2005. Had surgery on September 1, 2005. I have been back and forth to primary doctor and the surgeon. The primary doctor stateed do not reach above my shoulder and surgery say regular duty. So they send me back to surgeon again on Dec 15. I received a paper saying regular duty but work got different answer. No reaching above shoulder with left arm and weight limited. Now they want to send me to another Doctor on Jan 5 2006. I can not reach above my shoulder with ouit geting pain. And with my job I need to reach above my shoulder. Now I have forms that I do not understand and really now feeling uncomfortable about everything. So question is should I see a lawyer before filling these out. I have two weeks to get them back. And how to AI select a lawyer? Please help me.

You should hire a lawyer who handles workers' compensation immediately. First of all, your injury is a ROTATOR CUFF, not a rotary cup. Secondly, there appears to be a dispute between your doctors as to the extent of your injury and your ability to perform the regular duties of your job. The insurance company is looking for a way to cut off your benefits and force you to go back to work. If they do that, you will need medical support for your inability to work in order to get your benefits restored. You will probably also have a permanent disability rating and you will need the expertise of an attorney to help you get the award that you're entitled to.

Contact me if I can be of assistance.

Sir, you need a lawyer! Fees are regulated by the workers compensation commission and are very reasonable. I used to do substantial comp work but no longer accept comp cases not related to other claims that i may be handling for an individual.

I would be happy to refer you to an experienced workers comp lawyer convenient to where you live and the county where the hearing will take place. Call me if you would like a referral....
