Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Massachusetts

I recently stepped up to the front doors of a bar/club in Boston, MA, paid my $30 entrance fee, showed them I was 31 from Tennessee, and then stepped over to the bouncer search area inside the venue. They searched my purse and found a half empty bottle of liquor. He then, without any argument from me, told me to leave and said I wouldn't get my money back or my bottle. I told the cashier what happened and she said the same thing. Don't I have a right to get my bottle back and my money since I really never entered the venue, just the search area? If I do have a case, can I bring it against the owner since I don't remember which bouncer or clerk it was?

P.S. I'm genuinely bothered by this issue. I can't get this out of my head. They shouldn't assume I know all the rules because back where I live in Memphis, some bars or venues actually allow you to bring open bottled liquor in. Because of this I'm really serious about bringing suit against them simply on principle.
