Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Massachusetts
suing
i have an upcoming trial. I am
getting the charges dismissed
because there is clear evidence
exonerating me. I want someone to
pay for falsely accusing and charging
me for this ridiculous crime. May i
sue either the complaintent or the
officer for the legal fees i had to
incur. Also when the officer filed the
report he put false facts into the
report and also omitted facts that
would have served vital to my
exoneration. Is he liable. Note: I
have proof that he omitted these
important facts.

Re: suing
If you feel as though you were wrongfully or maliciously accused of a crime that you did not commit, you may have a claim of defamation against your accuser.
You can also seek to have your CORI sealed so that the effects of an arrest are diminished somewhat. Defamation cases are difficult, and you should be prepared to pay an attorney to take your case.
