Legal Question in Construction Law in Massachusetts
Created my own contract
Hello I created my own contract
stating im not liable or responsible for
any damages that occur during or after
my installation. Basicaly i hung a tv for
someone nd made up a little contract
that was signed by eachother my
question is if her tv fell or even fell on
someone could she sue me? I mean
the contract was not notoized and she
asked me to hang it. She mentioned
that these contracts dont hold up
anyways , but isnt it somewhat a ldgal
binding between us both that we agree
that if anything happends im not
responsible?

Re: Created my own contract
A contract can be created without notarized signatures, and does not need to be prepared by an attorney to be valid.
Of course, if you are going to be doing this type of work, you may want to sit with an attorney and develop a contract that is fully enforceable and protects your interests.
Feel free to contact me if you would like me to review the contract in question, or if you have any other concerns.
