Legal Question in Consumer Law in Massachusetts

legal validity of phone recording contract

I live in MA. I received a phone call from a lawn care company and over the phone they said they will do lawn service and will charge me $32. They recorded the conversation in which I confirmed I am ok with they doing the service. Now I get bills for like $162 and when I questioned the same, they sent me the recorded message. When I am listening to message now they did in between say they will do 2 service at $65 each and 1 service at $32.

My question is how much is legal validity of this phone call recording. Given that I did not sign any paper and the services were done when I was not even at home am I binded to pay them ?

Re: legal validity of phone recording contract

The court is likely to give this recording the respect due a contract. However, it will be carefully reviewed to determine whether it in fact contained unfair or deceptive language or wording. I would be happy to review a transcription of the recording to give more clear advice.
