Re: lien threat

Generally speaking, in order to file a mechanic's lien, there must be a written contract. The requirements for the lien are strict, and must be adhered to in order to effectuate the lien.

I suggest that you hire an attorney licensed in the Commonwealth. With the aid of an attorney, you may be able to negotiate a settlement of this issue without the need to defend litigation, or to defend the filing of a lien.
