Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Massachusetts

Details of SOL for debt in MA

Date of last activity on my debt is beginning of 2002. With the 6 year rule, it looks like I have reached the expiry of SOL period. However, I had spent part of that time (2 years) out ouf state (just needed to, it was not to run away from existing debt). I looked thru the General Laws of MA but was unable to find the rule if the ''out of state'' period tolls the SOL clock.

Re: Details of SOL for debt in MA

Typical reasons under Massachusetts law for tolling the statute of limitations include incompetence, minority, bankruptcy and a contractual limitation. Generally speaking, a defendant's absence from a state will toll the statute of limitations only in a criminal case:)Please feel free to contact me direct for a free initial consult based upon the facts of your specific situation.;)
