Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Massachusetts
Incorrect credit information leading to a higher mortgage rate
In 02/2002 I received a letter from my mortgage company ABN AMRO Mortgage Inc., that my mortgage payments were going up approximately $400 due to lack of homeowners insurance.
My insurance company and I provided ABN AMRO Mortgage Inc. numerous copies of this binder.
After 30+ letters I finally received a letter from ABN AMRO Mortgage Inc. stating that the information had been corrected and that this situation should not reflect negatively on my credit.
My wife and I are in the process of purchasing a home together and have been denied from several mortgage companies and must now purchase this new home at a much higher interest rate.
Do I have a good case and can you please help me find an lawyer?

Re: Incorrect credit information leading to a higher mortgage rate
You have not said why your rate was higher. Do you know for sure it was this issue? If so, how?
