If a woman has bills aquired prior to marriage can her new husband be held accountable for them?

The short answer to your question is a spouse is not liable for debts of the other spouse accrued prior to marriage, pursuant to Massachusetts Law. There are some exceptions which may apply. Please feel free to consult my office for specifics.
