What is the obligation of a co-signer of a car loan when the primary borrower dies and the surviving spouse registers the car in her name? Vehicle, borrower, co-signer and lender are all in Massachusetts.

It depends on how the vehicle is titled. The co-signer is still liable for the loan payments unless there was insurance in place to cover the outstanding loan. Feel free to contact me.
