Legal Question in DUI Law in Massachusetts

FID and LTC Restrictions

What was the penalty for 1st offense DUI, with no damages, in the early 80s? After ~25 years, I cannot renew my LTC b/c of Melanie's Law. If the conviction time for the offense was under 2 years, the problem would be solved, and I could get the license. There were no other offenses on my record, and I've owned a gun for over 40 years. Thank you for your time.

I don't know the exact penalty back then, but I can tell you if you have no other OUI's on your record, and the offense is pre-Melanie's law, then Melanie's law cannot be applied in your case.

You would most likely be looking at a period of probation for a year w/ a license loss. Probably 45 days back then.
