Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

I have an outdated Divorce agreement and child custody agreement in the State of Maine. I now live in Massachusetts. I can't afford an attorney to modify the agreeement. Can I do this myself.,

Whether you can modify the agreement depends on whether it is subject to modification by the court or not. If not, it can only be modified with the consent of the other party.

As far as drafting the modification of the agreement, while I do not recommend it, you can do it yourself.

You might want to go to your local probate and family court and see the volunteer attorney for assistance.

Good Luck

The best advice is really to speak to a family law attorney, but here are a couple of issues or things for you to consider.

First, you will need to establish whether Maine or Massachusetts is the appropriate state for you to file in.

Secondly, you are allowed to file a modification on your own behalf and without legal representation, although it is not recommended.

Lastly, it is not clear what you mean when you say your agreement is outdated. In order to modify your child support order/agreement, you will need to prove some sort of significant change.
