Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Whats the process

I was married in Massachusetts, but now live in Hawaii. I am in the military and would like to know what is the start of my process for divorce. We have no children and everything we have I have purchased. Will I have to file where we were married and how long will everything take to finalize.

Re: Whats the process

Make an appointment to discuss the process and proper court jurisdiction with the Legal Assistance Officer at the Judge Advocate General's Office. You will need to retain a civilian attorney, however, to appear in court for you, once the court having jurisdiction is determined. Good Luck!

Re: Whats the process

Talk to your Legal Assistance Officer at the Judge Advocate's office. As long as you and your wife are both present inHawaii, you should be able to file there.
