Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Property Lien on Marital Home

I was divorced 6/00 and jointly own home with ex until youngest child reaches 18 in 5 more years. Ex never paid divorce attorney who has now attached a lien to home. What should I do? Am I responsible? Can house be sold with a lien? I don't want this to affect my equity in the home.

Re: Property Lien on Marital Home

Your interest should not be affected. Your ex's attorney will be paid out of your ex's share of the home. It should not stop you from selling the home when the time comes.
