Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

I had a restraining order issused against my ex-husband. He has threatened my life and I did not have this issued for vengence. We went to court after the 14 days and the judge order the retraingng order extended for 6 months. He has now severd me with an order to vacate. I think it is because his FID card and guns were seived. But I truly think they should have been as he was carrying a gun on his person. What do I need to do to prepare for this hearing? Should I have an attorney?

If I were you I would have an attorney assist you. You are still in fear for your life and that is reasonable.

If you like I can recommend someone to you who handles this kind of case regularly.

Yes, you should consult an attorney. There are threats on your life and the individual may be trying to get his firearms back. Given the stakes, some legal guidance is recommended.

You should retain the services of an attorney, assuming you can afford to do it. Our office may be able to assist you in defending against this motion. Please reach out to our office or another attorney who practices in this area as soon as you are able, and best of luck.
