Short Order Motion

What is a Short Order Motion and what is required to obtain one? Also, I have recently married, and my husband has two children which he pays child support for. i also have 2 of my own which I receive child support. Can his ex girlfriend depose me now that we are married??? Can they go into my own personal accounts?

Re: Short Order Motion

Short order of notice is a way of getting an issue before a judge in less than the normal waiting time for scheduling a hearing.

If there is a matter in suit, you could be deposed. You should get an attorney to help you quash any notices of deposition. If you decide to just "not go", you could end up being found in contempt, and paying the ex's attorneys fees. You cannot afford to go without an attorney, unless you do not mind if the outcome results in you paying thousands of dollars that you would be able to avoid. This is not the kind of thing that you can realistically do on your own. Yes, they can request documents on your personal accounts. You need an attorney to skillfully resist these requests. Most non-attorneys, unless they are paralegals or trained in the law, are unable to know what to do, and when to do it, to assist people going through this kind of stuff. Good luck to you!
