Legal Question in Immigration Law in Massachusetts
I want to file for my daughter to come to the United States. I have no direct contact with her mother but have been told for the last year that she filed for my daughter already. She has shown me no documentation concerning this and I am reluctant to take her at her word but before I try to file for my daughter is there any way I can find out if my child's mother filed for her already to come here?

No, you can't find out unless the mother/petitioner tells you. However, normally, either parent or both parents can petition for a child if eligible.
It's not clear from your question: what is your status in USA; what is your daughter's mother's status in USA; what exactly mother had filed for a daughter; etc. If the mother is in USA and is eligible to petition for her daughter, why her daughter didn;t immigrate earlier with the mother?
