Legal Question in Immigration Law in Massachusetts

Can I sponsor my mother for a VISA?

My mother was previously a green card holding resident living in the United States until 1992 she returned to her home country and has since been denied re-entry and VISA to the US. I would like my mother to visit but right now I'm a university student about to graduate and I would like to know if that will affect my ability to sponsor her for a VISA.

What visa are you asking about? Did she surrender her green card to the US embassy in 1992?

If it's a visitor's visa, then you don't sponsor your mother, she just applies for a visa at the US embassy/consulate abroad.

If it's an Immigrant visa, and you are a US citizen, then yes. Provided that your mother is eligible for an immigrant visa and not inadmissible.
