Sister insurance after she past away

My sister passed away in January

2008. She left a insurance policy to

my brother and I. this policy was

from her first marriage. I received

my share of the money and so did

my brother. there were stocks and

her second husband told me that he

couldn't take it. i ask him about the

stocks and he told me that he took

the stocks for his bills. he was

supposed to deed the stocks to my

brother and I.he never got my

permission to do so. i don't talk to

him because of other family matters

Re: Sister insurance after she past away

You should sit down with an estate planning/probate administration attorney to sort through your current property interests.

Just because you were named as the beneficiary of your sister's life insurance policy, does not necessarily mean that you were named beneficiary for the remainder of her property when she passed.

Please feel free to contact me if I can be of further assistance.
