Legal Question in Personal Injury in Massachusetts
If you drive through the entrance/exit gate in a parking garage, break the gate and are caught on camera in the state of Massachusetts, what happens?

If you report it to the garage I suspect you pay for the damage and you are on your way. Likely your insurance would cover this if you reported it promptly. If you try to flee I suppose you might be open to a charge of leaving the scene of a property damage accident which I think has a mandatory penalty. I know leaving the scene of a personal injury accident is a mandatory one year in jail, but not sure about PD, it would surely be less. The idea, in case you did not guess, is to encourage people not to flee and to penalize harshly people that do so. You may want to consider lawyering up. Best luck, JBS
