Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

if someone breaks into my locker at school and steals the contents of my locker is the school responsible? My lock on my locker was locked and the person had to break open my locker to get into it.

i believe that at least in public schools you have no recourse. Unless this was done by a school employee
