Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

Legal Residency

How long does a person have to live at an address before they are considered a legal resident? I own the house & have children with this person. My question is can I make my girlfriend leave if I own the house?

Re: Guest or tenant?

You are confusing residency with the rights of your girlfriend to remain at your place.

Your girlfriend is either a guest or tenant. If she is contributing financially, or doing other things a tenant would do, then there is one approach.

If she is a guest, she has there as long as you want her to remain there.

There may be other complications, but these can be addressed in other questions, or contacting me.
