Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

I received rent renewal letter from the leasing office. They are increasing my rent 10% (about $200 more what I am paying now). I contacted tax assessor's

office in the city I live in and I asked if whether taxes on the property I rent have gone up and whether

the landlord/condominium got an abatement. What I found is YES, they did get an abatement and tax refund. Does this mean if the landlord/condominium received tax refund, or tax abatement, I should also receive a proportionate share of that reduction

proportionate share of that reduction?

Unless your lease has a provision for reduction based on a reduction in the taxes, then the answer is NO. As for the renewal, the landlord can increase his rent if it is reasonable based on the market.
