Re: security deposet

A landlord may use a security deposit to repair damage caused by a tenant, except for reasonable wear and tear. You don't mention whether or not you paid any type of security deposit. If one was paid and a deduction is made, the landlord must provide an itemized list of the damages along with written documentation regarding the actual or estimated cost of repair. The landlord must sign the statement of damages.
