The next step in probating an estate in Massachusetts will depend entirely on the estate. Is there a will? Is there no will? Does the estate qualify for voluntary administration? What are you assenting to? The appointment of an executor or administrator? The allowance of an account?

Generally, if all the interested parties assent to a proposed action, the petitioner (or his attorney) will file the assents with the Probate Court and the action will be allowed.
