my cousin left me 30% of assests in her will. as stated in the will, son got his inheritance while mother was alive. can he contest the will, how long will that take and do i have to pay legal fees for this?

The Executor of the Will will pay the legal fees. The son can contest the Will, but that does not mean he will or has a good basis for doing same.
If there is a Will contest you should be notified by the court as well as the executor.

If the will has been filed and approved, an executor will have been appointed. The executor has the duty to marshall the assets of the estate, pay the debts and distribute the remaining assets to the people named in the will. The son may contest the will, but usually the estate will pay the costs of the contest. Of course, this also diminishes the amounts that can be distributed.
