Legal Question in Workers Comp in Massachusetts

Company not paying workers compensation hospital bill

I had a fall at work and sprained my ankle. I returned back to work within 2 days so I did not file a workers comp claim. I have since left the company but they have still not paid the $1400 hospital relating to the fall on their premises. My calls about this are going unreturned and the hospital wants to put the bill into collection. I really can't afford to pay this nor should I have to. Am I going to be stuck or do I have some kind of recourse?

Re: Company not paying workers compensation hospital bill

No, you are not stuck with the bill. File a Workers Compensation claim and your former employer's Workers Compensation Insurance Company will pay it along with any injuries and lost wages you suffered as a result of the injury.
