Legal Question in Workers Comp in Massachusetts
..My husband has been collecting from Workman's Comp. and from SSDI for the past 21 years. He is permanently disabled We were recently contacted by the Insurance Co with an offer to settle his WC claim for a lump sum payment. We subsequently learned that if he does settle, he will forfeit any and all payments from SSDI. Even when he reaches retirement age, when the SSDI will automatically switch over to his Retirement benefit, he will not be entitled to collect it.Has anyone else ever heard of this? I don't understand how he can be denied collecting S.S.D.I (especially at the point where it officially becomes his RETIREMENT benefit?) Anyone with any knowledgable feedback?????
