Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Michigan

Chapter 13 Bankruptcy

I am currently under a chaper 13 bankruptcy and I had a Dodge Stratus which was stolen. I did not have insurance at the time my car was stolen. I lost my job and could not continue to pay my bankruptcy and now the car dealership attorneys want me to turn the car back in, but the problem is I do not have the car to turn back in. I want to know what is the best thing for me to do. Should I file a Chapter 7? Do you think that they will try to sue me because I do not have the car anymore and I did not have insurance on it? Also since I am under a Chapter 13 and if I was to file a Chapter 7 will the Chapter 7 stay on my credit for an additional 10 years or will it continue with my Chapter 13. Meaning I have been under my Chaper 13 for almost 4 years so will the Chapter 7 be on my credit for an additional 6 years instead of 10 years?

Re: Chapter 13 Bankruptcy

Greetings; I suggest you consult with a qualified Bankruptcy attorney and consider converting your 13 to a 7. I do not understand why you would care how long the bankruptcy stays on your credit report. Thanks, Atty. Trichler; www.trichler.com
