Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Michigan
Inheritance
My bankruptcy (chapter 7) was discharged this past December. My father passed away in February and left me approx. 70,000. Can this be taken away from me? Can I give it to someone else?
Thank You.

Re: Inheritance
You need to contact your bankruptcy attorney and let him or her know about your inheritance and get advice from that attorney. You will likely have to pay back those creditors who filed a Proof of Claim. I am sure you would agree that it is, after all, a fair result and consequence.
Best wishes.
