Legal Question in Business Law in Michigan
Letter of Notification
A former livein roommate, whom I was in a relation with, moved out leaving me with a substantial amount of debt from cell phone charges, vehicle purchase and back rent. If I send a certified letter to this party, howlong do I have to wait before filing legal action? Can I file suit without first notifying this party that I intend to seek redress. Thank you.

Re: Letter of Notification
It is not necessary to give any time between notice and filing a law suit. I will assume that the damages are within the guidelines of small claims court and therefore it will not be necessary to hire an attorney. It is not necessary that you call and tell the person that you are suing them either.
Good Luck!!!
